How it thinks
Each moment it runs the most important goals it can (lowest number first); a more important goal interrupts a less important one. Read from the game's code and put in our own words.
What it does
- 1Swims up to stay afloat in water and lava.
- 2Swells up and explodes when its target is close.
- 3Runs away from a nearby ocelot.
- 3Runs away from a nearby cat.
- 4Walks up to its target and hits it.
- 5Wanders around at random, keeping out of water.
- 6Looks at a nearby player.
- 6Looks around at random.
Who it goes after
- 1Picks the nearest player it can see as a target.
- 2Fights back against whatever hurt it.
How Emma beats it
With good gear she kills it before it blows; without, she runs.
- She sprint-hits it, then holds 3.4 to 5 blocks off until her sword is charged again, and backs off to 7.5 to 10 blocks when it starts hissing (unless she can finish it before the 1.5 second fuse).
- With weak gear she runs from one that is hissing within 7 blocks or after her within 6. A hissing creeper close to her is always run from.
- She raises her shield when it is about to blow within 6 blocks (12 for a charged creeper).
- We tested pouring water to stop the blast damage: it did worse (6 of 10) than just fighting (9 of 10), so she doesn't.
